Invisible Hands

Invisible Hands

Words & Music by Paul Williams & JD Martin

When a child believes
He’ll live his dreams
His prayers are heard
He fears no thunder
And when he falls
He safely lands
Guided by invisible hands

When a mother cries
She hides her tears
Says the lord provides
But she can’t help wonder
Who will give her child
What his heart demands
Oh…. invisible hands

Lost in the darkness we are lifted by love
Whisper and somebody hears
And if we dare to make that leap of faith
Somehow the bridge appears

When a silent storm
Knocks me down
And the tide and times
Pull me under
I will stand again
On these shifting sands
Held by invisible hands
Oh….invisible hands

Lost in the darkness we are lifted by love
Whisper and somebody hears
And if we dare to make that leap of faith
Somehow the bridge appears

When a child believes
He’ll live his dreams
His prayers are heard
He fears no thunder
And when he falls
He safely lands
Guided by invisible hands

Everywhere

Everywhere

Words and Music by Wayne Kirkpatrick & JD Martin

Tonight
I called out your name
And the thought of you was carried on the wind
It echoed through the canyon like a train
Winding on home to me again
I can almost touch your face
I know you never went away

Everywhere I go
I can feel you all around me
In the sunrise
In the moonlight
I breathe you in like the air
You’re everywhere

I walked through the forest green
Far from all the chaos and the noise
And the river, she sang to me
And I could swear it sounded like your voice
There to comfort me
Soothing as a gentle breeze

Everywhere I go
I can feel you all around me
In the sunrise
In the moonlight
I breathe you in like the air
You’re everywhere

One Heart

One Heart

Words & Music by JD Martin, Jamie Houston & Wendy Waldman

There’s a new church (earth) on the horizon
Made of light, not of stone
Calling out to all creation
You are not alone

Lions and lambs, saints and sinners
Best of friend, enemies
Woman and man, losers and winners
They are all in you and me….we are

One heart….looking for answers
One soul….finding our way in the dark
One dream….we share together
We are all a part of one heart

Out in the cold there are faces
Hidden by the wind and rain
Hold out your hand, someone will take it
And bring you home again

Around the world tonight
The fires are burning
Tears are falling from the sky
Still the world keeps turning

It May Not Be Today

It May Not Be Today

Words & Music by Paul Williams & JD Martin

I’ve been lost….I’ve been broken
Beaten by the road
searching for a willing heart
Arms to share my load
I am a true believer
I will find my way
Hold me faith
It may not be today

My enemies are nameless
Just voices in my head
Memories that track me down
Find me in my bed
If I could just embrace them
They might fade away
Hold me faith
It may not be today

In my dreams
I’m a warrior for the light
In my dreams
The way is always clear
But here tonight
I question everything tonight

Now I stumble over choices
And the wreakage of my past
Life has brought me to my knees
I’ve learned to pray at last
I’m still a true believer
I will find my way
Hold me faith
It may not be today

The Miracle of Love

The Miracle of Love

Words and Music by JD Martin & Gary Harrison

California’s the promised dream
He heard the dust bowl prophets scream
When the tractors came, he knew the final deed was done
He looked out through those teenage eys
That waved goodbye to the Kansas skies
Through tears and years of rains that did not come

As the screamin’ Eagle began to slow
A young girl boarded with all she owned
In an old tattered suitcase, a paper bag or two
While they stared out the boxcar door
She said her man had left six months before
And it was plain to see, she was nearly due

He shared his apples and his water can
Cause human kindness is stronger than
Human hunger, mortal thirst, or ungodly greed
As the train made rhythm with the endless tracks
He smiled and shyly held her hand
And two friends were made on that great iron steed

Then sometime round the break of dawn
A little baby girl was born
Wrapped in a Kansas blanket to keep her from the cold
And beneath that Colorado sky
He lit his last Lucky Strike
And vowed to God he’s never let them go

We laid Grandpa to rest today
And as the limousine pulled away
I turned and smiled at the California sun
Cause he and Grandma were smiling back
From a glory train on golden tracks
And I marveled at the miracle of love

I Shall Not Be Moved

I Shall Not Be Moved

Words & Music by JD Martin & Michael Peterson

Me and three friends
One summer at the Hiawassee Georgia County Fair
Could not believe our ears
We stopped and stared
At a local policitican saying
“Send them back to Africa
They don’t belong here”
What happened next seemed kinda like a joke at first
While the rest of us just turned to walk away
Billy smeared his face and hands with Georgia clay
And started singing….

I shall not be moved
I shall not be moved

I watched the men
Who gathered ’round the politician
Try to threaten Billy with their angry fists
But he just stood there
His baseball cap looked like a halo
God’s own muddy angel standing in our midst
Then a little courage finally found my feet
And I knew what I had to do
I knelt down in the dirt with all my heart and soul
I started singing….

I shall not be moved
I shall not be moved
For all the innocent
Standing alone defenseless
I shall not be moved

Yes, I am part of everything in this rainbow

Repeat Full Chorus

Love is Waiting

Love is Waiting

Words and Music by JD Martin & Rick Neigher

We’ve all felt the darkness
Falling down on us in our beds
We’ve all been disheartened
Pulled the covers up over our heads
Wished we were dead
When a heart full of trouble
Keeps us awake
In the middle of the struggle
When there’s no escape

Love is waiting
To give a little light
If we dare to step into the night
When our hearts are aching
We cannot see our way
In that desperate moment
When we lose our faith
Love is waiting

When we wake up tomorrow
If we opened up our hearts to what we see
The beauty of a flower
Might be all it takes to change reality
To something so sweet
It’s a step by step survivial
It’s a choice we make
In every day’s arrival
In every breath we take

Only Heaven Knows

Only Heaven Knows

Words and Music by JD Martin & Jamie Houston

Why ask why
Show yourself some mercy
Don’t be shy
You don’t have to look away
It’s alright
You don’t have to know the answers
In your heart you know you’ll do
The very best you can

Sail away tonight
On the ocean of forgiveness
We do not decide
Which way the wind will blow
Come and close your eyes
Let go of tomorrow
Some things in life
Only heaven knows

Face the sky
The light will never hurt you
Live your life
You don’t have to be afraid
Hear the sighs
Of those who truly love you
There’s nothing you could ever do
To make them turn away

Hush my baby
Don’t you cry
Say a prayer to heaven
Everything will be alright

A World of Peace

A World of Peace

Words & Music by JD Martin, Kellie Coffey & Chuck Jones

In the middle of the night
I fumble for the light
Stumble to the ‘frigerator
I can’t sleep
These bills are getting deep
And lately I’ve been feuding with the neighbor

Clock says 3 AM
I turn on CNN
Listen to the commentator
Talking ’bout the land of Palestine
Well these problems of mine
Don’t seem so complicated

Here in the darkness of the longest night
I think about how it could be
I wanna wake up in the morning light
Living in a world…..a world of peace

Caught up in the tide
Of prejudice and pride
In the name of the holy father
Spreading hate and spilling blood
Second coming of the flood
We sacrifice our sons and daughters

I lay down and close my eyes
Dream I’m being baptized
In a river of healing waters
I can see a brand new earth
Where we don’t have to die for dirt
And mothers don’t give birth to martyrs

Just think about how it could be
I wanna wake up
Living in a brand new world

Keep on Walking

Keep on Walking

“for my dear friend, John”

Words & Music by JD Martin, Michael Dulaney & John Jarrard

Do you ever wonder where it leads
The road that lies before you is a mystery
There are no signs to read
But following your dreams
Will lead you home

Whenever you lose your way
And faith’s put to the test
And you’re too afraid
To take another step
Whenever the sun fades
And it’s too dark to see
Keep On Walking

There might be a burden weighing on your back
There might be the highest mountain standing in your path
Carry on with grace
Thankful for each day
In this life

Repeat Chorus

And if the road you’re on
Comes to an end
Just close your eyes and
Keep On Walking

Repeat Chorus
